He doesn’t trust her at all, and yet she makes his little girl smile. Although Edie is almost half his age, Trent is being slowly driven crazy by the teenager. Setting her up in a job at his company, he tells her his expectations and sits back to wait. If she doesn’t do as he instructs, he will crush her in the worse way possible. Her father is also holding something against her, threatening what she holds most dear. He is dark and dangerous and despite being her father’s business partner, she is so very attracted to him. When Trent intervenes he warns her that he’ll use what he has on her at a future time. Edie carries a heavy burden and does everything she can to make sure that burden is cared for. They both gave so much life to the characters and helped to pull me deeper into the story. Absolutely loved the narration of this one!Īudiobook: Narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Christian Rummel The narrators did an exceptional job! I was never confused as to who was speaking or if they were speaking or thinking.
